How long does a candle burn for?

Small Soy Container approx. 15 hours

Large Soy Container approx. 45 hours
Extra Large Soy Container approx. 60 hours

Candle Safety:
Please follow these simple candle safety tips.
• Trim your wick before lighting your candle, do this before you relight the candle each time.
• Keep burning candles away from children, pets and combustible materials. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
• On your first burn allow enough time for the wax to burn to the edge of the container. Soy wax has a memory – it’ll continue to burn to original burn line.
• Never burn a candle for more than 4 hours at each burn.
• When there’s less than 10mm of wax at the bottom of the container stop using your candle –the glass container may become very hot and the heat may crack or break the container.
• Do not continue to use your candle if the container is cracked or broken.
• Place a non-combustible/heat resistant support under your candle.
• To extinguish a burning candle, it’s recommended you use a candle snuff or wick dipper – do not use your fingers, the container lid or water. You may need to trim your wick slightly before burning your candle again.

My child suffers from eczema can you suggest a soap she could try?

I would suggest trying any of the following soaps: –
Castile Soap – Safe for sensitive skin. Since castile soap is made from safe, simple plant oil, it’s considered safe for even the most sensitive skin types.
Butter Milk and Carrot Puree – When Buttermilk is added to soap it creates a silky creamy lather which is perfect for sensitive skin
Natural Goat Milk – Goats Milk is ideal for use by those with sensitive skin and is gentle enough to be used on both the face and body
Natural Coconut Milk – Coconut Milk soap gives you a deep clean while leaving your skin feeling soft and moisturised and doesn’t strip the natural oils from your skin. Coconut oil and coconut milk combined to give a lovely rich lather and the Vitamin E in coconut milk helps to add moisture to dry chapped skin
***As with any soap or product if your daughter has a reaction STOP using immediately

Do you sell anything I can use as a replacement to Shampoo?

Yes, I have two wonderful Shampoo Bars which I use myself. I started out looking for an alternative to Shampoo and Conditions which left my scalp red and itching. I made Coconut Milk Shampoo bars using Essential Oils and now only use those. You can choose from Tea Tree Essential Oil or Rosemary Essential Oils. I no longer use conditioner as these fantastic Shampoo Bars leave my hair soft and my scalp itch-free.

How often should I flip the reeds in my Oil Diffuser?

The reed diffuser sticks can be flipped whenever you want for an extra burst of fragrance or when you notice the scent is low. I suggest you flip the reeds weekly when you dust this will remind you that it’s been done. Be very careful not to drip any of the oil onto your furniture or tabletop as it can react with some surfaces. I use a paper towel when I flip mine so I can be sure it doesn’t come into contact with any surface and always be sure to clean any spills immediately. Start with 5-7 reeds and then add the last few when your oil diffuser is getting low and needs a boost.

How long does soap take to make?

Making the soap batter can take up to 3 hours per batch from start to finish. Once the batter is poured into the mould it needs to set for anything from 24 hours to a week, depending on the type of soap, weather and the type of mould.

The soap is unmoulded and cut and placed onto a curing rack where each bar is turned every other day to ensure it dries evenly. Ordinary soap takes 4 weeks, milk soaps take a minimum of 6 weeks to cure and castile soap takes a minimum of 8 weeks.

It’s a long and time-consuming process but it’ll teach you patience if nothing else. Once the soap is cured it’s then wrapped and labelled ready for sale.

I want to purchase a Gift Hamper for a friend, can I choose the products I want to make up the basket or can you help me by making some suggestions?

A great question:

Firstly, I would ask what the occasion is e.g. Birthday, Wedding or maybe a Get-Well gift.

Does your friend have any allergies e.g. Nut Allergies, reactions to Fragrance Oils?

What is their favourite colour and fragrance? Next, I’d need some idea on what your budget is?

Once those questions are answered we can begin to create the best gift ever.  I do have some baskets already made but am always happy to go with your wishes. Use the contact page and let me email you back and together we’ll put together a wonderful gift for your friend. Remember when buying handmade items from an artisan crafter, you’re buying unique products.
